Migrate ElectronReact from Electron to Tauri #1

Owner

Replaces the Electron/electron-forge/webpack shell with Tauri: a Rust
host registering only the official dialog/fs plugins, Vite for the
frontend build, and a window.dialogs bridge (dialogs-bridge.ts) backed
directly by those plugins. Image import and PDF export are unchanged
in behavior, ported to run in the webview instead of Electron's main
process.

Motivated by Electron's install-size reputation ahead of the planned
open-source release. Validated first as a spike (see
openspec/changes/archive/2026-09-12-spike-tauri-shell-port/) before
this migration (openspec/changes/archive/2026-09-13-migrate-electron-to-tauri/).

Verified

  • Linux: save/load, image import, chart-only and merged PDF export all
work; chart rendering matches the old Electron build pixel-for-pixel
    (only difference: scrollbar styling)
  • .deb/.rpm packaging builds cleanly; AppImage builds but wasn't fully
verified at runtime in the dev sandbox (see findings.md in the
    archived spike change)

Deferred (not blocking)

  • Windows/macOS functional and rendering verification
  • Real app icon (still Tauri's placeholder)

Replaces the Electron/electron-forge/webpack shell with Tauri: a Rust
host registering only the official dialog/fs plugins, Vite for the
frontend build, and a window.dialogs bridge (dialogs-bridge.ts) backed
directly by those plugins. Image import (Jimp) and PDF export (pdfkit's
standalone build + blob-stream + pdf-lib for merging) are unchanged in
behavior, ported to run in the webview instead of Electron's main
process. Motivated by Electron's install-size reputation ahead of the
project's open-source release, and validated first as a spike
(archived under openspec/changes/archive/) before this migration.

Verified on Linux: save/load, image import, and both PDF export paths
all work; chart rendering matches the old Electron build pixel-for-
pixel. Windows/macOS verification is deferred (tracked in this change's
tasks.md) rather than blocking - no Mac hardware available, and Windows
testing will happen later with issues fixed forward.

Windows/macOS verification remains deferred (see tasks.md), tracked as
follow-up rather than blocking.
